Action Research Programmes

CapeUK has a wide experience of running projects and programmes with a reflective, action research approach. We have worked extensively with Higher Education and have developed an approach to our programmes that seeks to draw out the learning from the activity for all involved. We generally emphasise an open inductive approach to action research, posing questions and areas of enquiry and use the project as a means to study the impact and process of the work. How young people develop creative thinking and behaviour is a central focus.

How the adults develop their own creativity and create the right environment for their pupils is equally important. We see this as an important form of CPD for all adults involved. The questioning, reflection and discussion that are integral to our programmes and projects help all of us gain a greater understanding of how young people learn and what motivates and challenges them. We involve and engage teachers, creative practitioners and other adults in the planning and thinking as much as possible, with a strong emphasis on the programme being a creative experience in its own right.
