This series of booklets follows the successful implementation of CARA: booklet 02 has practical resources, supported by a CD-ROM and booklet 03 outlines some themes and starting places related to a few case studies, supported by a DVD that follows two enquiries in detail.

Through the ‘Creativity Matters’ series we are hoping to stimulate a conversation about how we can transform the experiences which children and young people have in their schools and communities to make this right a reality.

 

Creative Space: Creative Approaches to Science Learning in Schools

This publication draws on 5 years of CapeUK’s work with networks of schools in the field of creative teaching and learning in science.
 

'Journey' A handbook to support the exploration of Creativity in schools through 28 activities

Between April 2004 and March 2005, fifty Advanced Skills Teachers undertook an experiential programme to explore and develop their understanding of the theory and practice of creativity, creativity and the National Curriculum, creative capability and behaviour, and environments that support creativity.

These training materials are based on the programme, the ideas and experiences of individual ASTs and the work of CapeUK.

 

Building Creative Futures

The story of the Creativity Action Research Awards 2005 In 2004, Creative Partnerships initiated the Creativity Action Research Awards scheme (CARA) and CapeUK designed and ran the project during the school year 2004-2005.

CARA was a bold move - a national project, involving 104 individual projects running in 145 schools across the country. This publication presents the findings of CARA 2005 in thematic schemes such as 'focus on pupil learning' and 'focus on partnership'.

 

Everyday Creativity: Acquiring the Art of Lifelong Learning

A guide to increasing Creative Teaching and Learning in the 14-19 Curriculum.

In this Guide you will find in-depth case studies, activities and discussion starters that are freestanding and can be dipped into as time and inclination allow.

Taken as a whole, the Guide has an underpinning structure to explore the ideas in greater depth and from a range of perspectives.

 

Young Roots, Your Roots: Creativity, Schools and Community Cohesion

A guide for those working with young people in the 5-13 age-group in schools and communities, and anyone working to promote community cohesion.

This guide sets out to share with a wider audience some of the lessons learned from 'Young Roots, Your Roots', a series of 'community cohesion' projects in Yorkshire schools coordinated by CapeUK in the summer of 2004.

 

CapeUK: A Review of Progress

Published in 2000, this is an enlightening review of CapeUK's early work in 24 high schools in Leeds and Manchester.
 

Recipes for Success Part 1

A guide for creative practitioners working in the area of social inclusion for young people.

'Recipes for Success' has been developed as a two-part guide for creative practitioners working in the area of social inclusion with young people. Part 1 explores the characteristics of the work, whilst Part 2 (to be published later in the year) explores the practical elements of working in this area, for example joint planning, working with other organisations, safety and risk.
